Accessibility Statement

Our standard

We aim for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. We review the site against that standard when we change it, and we fix problems as we find them rather than waiting for a scheduled overhaul.

What we have done

• Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a "skip to main content" link at the top.
• Menus, accordions, tabs, and the photo viewer announce their state to assistive technology and close with the Escape key.
• Text is large by default, and nothing important is smaller than 12 pixels. Pages reflow to a phone screen without sideways scrolling.
• Buttons and links are sized for touch, and the site honours your device's "reduce motion" setting.
• Form fields are labelled, required fields are marked in text as well as colour, and errors are shown next to the field and announced.
• Headings follow a logical order, and every page has one main heading.

What we are still working on

• Some photographs are stock images with general descriptions. We are replacing them with our own photographs and more specific descriptions.
• The map on the Contact page is provided by OpenStreetMap; its controls are not fully accessible, so the address and a directions link are given in text alongside it.
